Today, after over a month of work on my free time, I finally release my new WordPress theme Celeste. Again, named after the PSD template that inspired this:

History
Because of the great acceptance of the Bluemasters Theme (over 1700 downloads now!) I started looking for more cool templates I could transform into WordPress, that’s when I found Celeste by Amuki, a really cool clean PSD template, just exactly what I was looking for.
This time I had to convert the template into a HTML/CSS template first, so I used the 960 Grid System mainly because I wanted this to be easy to modify, however, this supposed little changes on the design, so don’t be surprised if the theme doesn’t look exactly like the PSD.
Features
- Double Slider on home page.
- Different layouts for home, archives and single posts.
- 4 Personalized excerpts wich can be changed in the functions file.
- Twitter and Flickr feed included.
- Contact form included on every page.
- Options page to modify the way the theme interact.
- Support for the WordPress Thumbnails.
- It requires WordPress 2.9 or higher!
Installation
Installing is pretty much like any other themes, with some small previous preparations.
- Make sure you’re not using the Twitter for WordPress plugin, the theme includes a modified copy so if you have the plugin active your site will break.
- Install and activate the theme, now go to Appearance->Celeste Options and configure the theme.
- To use the Home template you need to create two empty pages, one using “Home” template, and one using the “Default Template” which is actually the blog template.
- Go to Settings->Reading and set the front page to Static Page, then select “Home” for front page and “Blog” for posts page.
- Now you’re good to go! just remember you’ll need to upload a preview image to all your posts, it really doesn’t matter the size of those images as long as they’re at least 543×385 pixels for the slider. If you don’t select a featured image a default one will be used.
Suggestions
This is a great theme, but I know it can be better, I just don’t know how, so if you’ve got an idea (or a problem) leave a comment or send me an email.
